Mareike – Specialist Accounting, Hamburg

I am responsible  for the majority of accounts payable for 4flow management and our Pilsen location, and I also provide support in processing our colleagues’ travel expenses. I am currently overseeing the introduction of a new travel expense tool, which makes my work a lot of fun and really energizes the daily work routine.

Our steady growth has led to more and more previously outsourced processes being moved in-house, which means we have had to take on a wide range of additional responsibilities. It has therefore become important to approach new tasks with fresh ideas and an open mind. These kinds of challenges require self-reliance above all else. It is great that junior colleagues are entrusted with responsibility right from the start and treated so respectfully by more experienced colleagues.

4flowers are always very open and supportive of each other – not only within their own teams, but across departments as well. You can always count on colleagues or supervisors to hear your questions or concerns and help you to find the right solution quickly.

Farid – Marketing Associate, Berlin

There are few moments in your professional life when you feel that you’re in the right place. For me, that moment was when I started at 4flow. What inspires me here is not only the wide range of exciting work I get to do in marketing – above all, it’s the team spirit. People really work together here, they share ideas, and everyone is valued for their individual contribution to the company's success. This makes us more productive and our work really fulfilling.

As a marketing associate, I support the team in various areas, from planning budgets, to keeping track of our media appearances, to coordinating meetings. Helping organize our running events in Germany is especially fun for me. These events are a great opportunity to connect with colleagues, and they show how 4flow encourages well-being and camaraderie. It's nice to see how getting active brings together all our teams from different locations.

What motivates me in my work is the variety of tasks. No two days are the same, and the challenges that arise on a regular basis require creativity and initiative. This means that I can constantly develop new solutions and further expand my skills. Another thing that motivates me: the teamwork at 4flow, in the marketing team and beyond. Even though we all come from different departments and countries, you immediately notice that everyone is working toward the same goal. Collaboration at 4flow is always constructive and respectful.

I actually wanted to major in computer science after my university entrance exams. But since an apprenticeship offers a higher level of practical experience, I changed my mind. I talked with several businesses, but 4flow made the most convincing impression on me. After a two-year apprenticeship (successfully completing my exams one year ahead of time), I was hired by 4flow.

Over the years, 4flow has grown a lot and many aspects within the IT department have become more challenging. With an increasing number of office locations come corresponding issues with the IT landscape. At the same time, we need to maintain the same standard level as an organization. During my training, this led to huge amounts of growth in my knowledge and expertise. I even had my own projects, with full responsibility, during my apprenticeship.

What does a typical day in IT services look like?

In IT services, every day looks a little different. Of course, there are long-term projects, but the varied requests from our team will determine what each day looks like. You’ll also set up laptops for new hires and manage our IT infrastructure.

What can I expect from day to day in the compliance team?

In compliance, you’ll prepare, carry out and follow up on various certifications, and you’ll be part of the team responsible for data security at 4flow. Other important tasks include following up on requests related to information and data protection from our team, as well as the ongoing development of our existing management systems.

How can I support 4flow’s growth in corporate development and strategy?

Depending on your position, you’ll contribute to 4flow’s growth in a number of ways. In strategy, you’ll help shape 4flow’s future market positioning, and you’ll work on strategic initiatives and on our strategic direction in specific projects. In internal communications, you’ll keep our team up to date on current topics using the right channels, organize global events and promote corporate social responsibility. In the topic area New Work, you’ll prepare 4flow and our team for the future of work.

What impact can I have as part of the HR team?

Your tasks depend on the HR team you join. In the talent acquisition team, you’ll make sure top potential applicants know about 4flow and are excited to apply. In people operations, you’ll contribute to our team’s satisfaction by providing individual support for team members and managers. As part of the global learning and development team, you’ll support 4flowers in their technical and personal growth, and in the Workday team, you’ll continually develop our HCM software. If you work at one of our international locations, you’ll work on all local HR topics.

What does a typical workday in marketing look like?

In marketing, your tasks also vary based on your position. As part of the content team, you’ll work on creative texts for various channels, while in the graphic design team, you’ll create visual content to go with them. In online marketing or automation and CRM, you’ll ensure 4flow reaches a wide audience with a professional online look, and you’ll optimize 4flow’s marketing with innovative tools. In event management, you’ll organize a wide range of events. Together, you’ll shape 4flow’s global external communication. 

How does our finance team spend its workday?

In finance, accounting and liquidities management are the focus. Depending on your specific area, your daily tasks will include checking and creating invoices, managing billing for our projects, or consolidating our many entities. You will be working with state-of-the-art tools. 

What can I expect from a typical day in controlling?

Your day-to-day work in controlling includes analyzing figures and evaluating reports and ad-hoc analyses. Assessing our business development is always the focus of these tasks. To do this, you and your team will work closely with 4flow’s management. In addition to your day-to-day work, you’ll also work on special topics like yearly budget planning, quarterly forecasts and regular budget reviews.

What is a workday like in administration?

Our administration team is the first point of contact when it comes to support for guests and visiting customers, facility management, organization of travel, preparation for meetings and general well-being in our offices. You’ll be in contact with many different people every day, both in person and via telephone or Microsoft Teams.

How is my team set up?

You’ll work in permanent teams and will already get to know lots of team members during your application process. Since each team is different, we’ll be happy to give you more details in our conversations.

What will my onboarding look like?

You’ll start with a welcome day, when you’ll get all the important information about 4flow and get to know other 4flowers. Your team will also create an onboarding plan for you to help you get to know your new position step by step. For individual questions, you’ll have a buddy to support you.
