Tamas – Manager Transport Planning, Budapest

I was one of the first team members at the Budapest office. While the application process was intensive, it left me with a positive impression. An organization that invests so much effort in carefully selecting its team clearly sees the value in teamwork. And this was exactly my impression of the departments I was introduced to in my first few days of work. Networking across locations and divisions is so important to the work we do. It makes the working environment at 4flow personal while the number of office locations around the world continues to grow.

Through networking with like-minded colleagues and the various internal training opportunities offered, starters at 4flow quickly learn lots fast. There are always new challenges to be discussed and handled as a team. This creative way of working is just as much fun for me as presenting a customer with the optimal solution. As a supply chain engineer, I am responsible for the global supply chain network of one of our customers. Together with my team, we identify potential savings within the network. Working hard at 4flow quickly earns you more responsibility. For me personally, I took the opportunity at the right time and am now first contact person for one of our customers.

FAQ

Planning:

What does a typical workday look like in planning?

You will take on the planning and optimization of transport networks and work closely as a team with one customer. You’ll work on your tasks both independently and as a team and present the results to your customer.

How big are the project teams?

Generally, teams are made of around 5 members, including supply chain analysts, supply chain engineers and a team lead.

Can I choose the industry of the customers I work with?

To put project teams together, industry requirements are key. We take a close look at each team member’s abilities – and we also consider your own interests and development potential.

How long do projects usually last?

Projects generally last around 3 years – sometimes longer, sometimes shorter. If you want a change sooner, you can switch before the project is finished.

What advantages does 4flow offer customers as a 4PL?

We don’t have any trucks or logistics sites – we’re a purely neutral outsourcing partner. Our customers keep their contracts with LSPs. We take on the overall management of the supply chain and support our customers over years with our expertise.

Execution:

What does a typical workday look like in execution?

Each workday starts with a team meeting to discuss the day’s tasks. You’ll be responsible for making sure transport runs smoothly, and you’ll have a hand-over to international colleagues at the end of the day.

Which mode of transport is used most often?

Mostly, we work with land freight, so you’ll most likely be coordinating trucks. But we also optimize global sea and air freight for many of our customers.

What will my team be like?

The size of each team depends on the customer, but teams are mostly made of 4 to 10 people.
